Kittens feel it first when a foster department doesn’t have the supplies they need. This grant gave the foster team the tools to say yes: incubators and nebulizers for fragile bottle babies, kennel banks to separate litters and treat sick kittens safely, and scales to track every gram of growth.
The impact came fast. Mortality for bottle babies dropped from 34% to 7%, the number of orphaned bottle babies helped exceeded the previous year’s total, and 14 new foster families stepped up to bottle feed. In all, 1,453 kittens benefited.
“Seeing these neonates arrive in the toughest of situations and having the tools to help them is a gamechanger when caring for such a fragile population.” Elizabeth, Foster Care Coordinator
