A seasonal Kitten Foster Coordinator was hired to serve as the single point of contact for neonatal kittens at this shelter. The role guided each kitten through every step of the journey: intake triage, foster placement, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and finally adoption day.
In the first six weeks of kitten season, there were 37% more neonates than the year before. With numbers growing that fast, the coordinator’s hands were full, and the impact showed. It is proof of what a specialized role can do for kittens in need.
