This grant was used to recruit 15 additional foster caregivers, develop in-person neonatal kitten training for new fosters, expand the duties of existing staff to create a dedicated team member for foster support, and purchase incubators to stabilize high-risk kittens that came into their care. They also developed a system to track the supplies foster caregivers need and use most frequently, ensuring those items are readily available for new foster assignments.
With these advancements to their foster program, BGWHS is better equipped to respond to kitten season proactively, provide critical support to foster caregivers, and give vulnerable kittens the specialized care they need to thrive.
