Kira’s Fund was created in memory of Kira Serisky, a beloved teen foster parent to some of the most vulnerable kittens. This grant carried her legacy forward with kitten care foster kits, giving foster families all the supplies they needed. Seven families received kits, and 27 kittens were impacted.
One kit went to a family with three young children who fostered three, 10 days old kittens. The kids prepared by watching training videos, and caring for the kittens became part of their homeschool curriculum.
Many foster families in the program include kids and teens who are inspired to save kittens, just as Kira was.
