Kitten season never slows down, and neither do the pickups, emails, and check-ins that keep foster homes running. This grant added extra hands when they were needed most.
Three seasonal kitten foster coordinators joined the team through spring, summer, and fall, focused only on kitten foster placement and care. They fed, weighed, and photographed kittens, wrote bios to help them find foster homes faster, answered foster questions, led pickup appointments, and checked in with foster parents on vaccines, medical care, spay and neuter, and adoption.
In all, 677 kittens arrived and all of them benefited from the added capacity. Foster parents got quicker responses, fewer kittens slipped through the cracks, and the overall average time in care dropped by 5 days. The extra support also eased stress and burnout on the full-time team during the busiest months.
