Central Texas Flooding

Project Name: Central Texas Flooding
Organization: Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter
Location: Texas

When catastrophic flooding swept through Central Texas, local, state, and national emergency declarations followed—and two animal shelters were forced to evacuate. As a regional hub for animal services, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter immediately stepped in to help.

In the days that followed, the shelter welcomed 83 displaced kittens, many arriving without medical history, some in fragile health, and all in need of urgent care. The crisis struck at the peak of kitten season, a time when resources are already stretched thin, pushing teams into full emergency-response mode.

A $10,000 emergency grant provided lifesaving support at a critical moment. The funding covered supplies, medical treatment, and sanitation equipment—ensuring these vulnerable kittens received safe, stable, and compassionate care when they needed it most.
