For too long, shelters have struggled to meet the complex needs of kittens without the staffing, training, or structured programs necessary to save them. Orphan Kitten Club is changing that by bringing together shelter professionals from across the country for immersive, week-long kitten Learning Labs.
Led in partnership with Kitten Lady and San Diego Humane Society, our Learning Labs combine data-driven best practices with hands-on instruction from a variety of leaders in shelter medicine, foster programs, neonatal kitten husbandry, and supportive care. Set in a high-intake, high-impact nursery, the program blends classroom education with practical experience, allowing participants to build skills, evaluate their programs, and develop strategies that save lives.
By pairing grants for kitten-focused staffing with expert mentorship, we are empowering kitten champions nationwide with the tools, confidence, and knowledge to save vulnerable kittens in their own shelters.
