Orphan Kitten Club Gift Acceptance Policy
Orphan Kitten Club solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its mission and that support its core programs, as well as special donations and other forms of support will generally be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies, or other entities, subject to the following limitations:
Restrictions on Gifts- Orphan Kitten Club will not accept gifts that (a) would result in Orphan Kitten Club violating its organizational documents, (b) would jeopardize Orphan Kitten Club’s status as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization under federal and state law, (c) are too difficult or too expensive to administer in relation to their value including gifts intended for specific animals (d) would result in any unacceptable consequences for Orphan Kitten Club, or (e) are for purposes outside Orphan Kitten Club’s mission. Decisions on the restrictive nature of a gift, and its acceptance or refusal, shall be made by the Board.
Certain types of gifts must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special liabilities they may pose for Orphan Kitten Examples of gifts which will be subject to the board’s review and approval include gifts of real property, personal property, oil gas and mineral interests, and securities.
