Surfer Girl was found outdoors lethargic and not eating well. An X-ray revealed why: severe pectus excavatum, a congenital condition where the sternum and rib cage are sunken inward, leaving less and less room for the heart and lungs as a kitten grows. Her team moved quickly, and her correction surgery was a success. Surfer Girl recovered in the care of dedicated fosters, sporting newborn onesies to protect her incision, and was adopted into her forever home.
