Simba

Location: Indiana
Condition: Surgical - Other
Organization: Indy Humane

Simba arrived at just three and a half weeks old with a noticeable head tilt, an open abscess behind his ear, and a painful ear infection. His care team got to work immediately with pain medication, fluids, and antibiotics, and kept at it through every setback. The infection proved stubborn, progressing to facial paralysis and a 90 degree head tilt before Simba’s team determined he needed surgery to treat the middle ear disease and remove infected tissue.

The surgery was a success. Simba continued his antibiotics and regular ear cleanings until every last symptom, including the head tilt and facial paralysis, fully resolved. This tiny lion never stopped fighting.
