Milton arrived at just three weeks old and seemed to be doing well until he began struggling to breathe and became lethargic. A trip to the vet revealed severe bacterial and viral pneumonia and an almost-collapsed right lung. He spent several days in the hospital on oxygen before stabilizing enough to continue his recovery at home, where his foster was equipped with an oxygen setup to support him.
As his appetite came back, the challenge became keeping his kitten energy in check while he healed. Through it all, Milton had one constant companion by his side: his beloved emotional support watermelon toy. He battled back like a champ, was successfully weaned off oxygen, and went on to be neutered and adopted.
