Mata & Maka

Mata and Maka were born with eyelid agenesis and hypoplasia, conditions affecting their eyelids and vision. After several visits to a veterinary ophthalmologist, their care team determined they needed just one procedure rather than full eyelid reconstruction, and now a daily eye drop routine keeps them comfortable and healthy. These two are inseparable, leaning on each other to navigate the world, playing nonstop, and snuggling under blankets together. Maka grows anxious when his sister isn’t nearby, and Mata lovingly grooms him to soothe him. They were adopted together, exactly as it should be.
