Dara was found on a neighbor’s front porch at just four weeks old, unable to walk. Brought in for examination, X-rays revealed a left femur fracture. Fortunately her leg could be saved. Surgeons carefully placed pins and an external plate to repair the break, and the initial surgery was a complete success.
Dara then patiently endured eight weeks of strict crate rest while her leg healed, no small feat for such an energetic kitten. Follow-up X-rays confirmed what everyone was hoping for, and a second surgery successfully removed the plate and pins. Her leg was fully healed. Dara is now back to chasing crinkle balls and toy mice with the best of them.
