Buffalord and Hobgobbler arrived at a stray hold clinic in Illinois, both found with ruptured eyeballs and severe atrophy from chronic eye infections. They were in pain and had lost interest in eating. Buffalord underwent enucleation to remove her right eye, with medication to treat the left. Hobgobbler required a bilateral enucleation, removing both eyes. Both girls received same-day treatment and came through their surgeries ready for a fresh start.
