Angel

Angel was born with microphthalmia, a congenital condition causing underdeveloped eyes and extra tissue that left her in pain and prone to chronic infections. To give her the best chance at a healthy life, her care team moved forward with a bilateral enucleation, removing both eyes and the surrounding tissue. Angel came through beautifully and now navigates her world with her whiskers, hearing, and sense of smell. She plays confidently with crinkle balls, cuddles with her foster family, and fills every day with love and joy. Her blindness doesn’t define her. It has only highlighted her strength and adaptability.
