Violet

Location: Arizona
Condition: Panleukopenia
Organization: Newborn Kitten Rescue

After a few days in foster care Violet began vomiting and stopped eating. She was taken to the emergency hospital, where she tested positive for panleukopenia, a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease in kittens.

Violet was hospitalized and isolated due to the contagious nature of the virus, and treated with IV antibiotics and anti-nausea medication. After three days, her bloodwork began to improve and her appetite returned. Once she was healthy enough to return to foster care, she continued to isolate from other kittens, and at her one-month recheck, she tested negative for panleukopenia.

Violet was spayed and adopted into her forever home.
