Iris

Iris was found by a kind community member who noticed she wasn’t urinating properly. A thorough exam at UC Davis revealed a rare and serious condition: a recto-vaginal fistula, where her GI and urinary tracts were interconnected. With little precedent for fixing this kind of condition in such a small kitten, her team decided to try anyway. Internal medicine and soft tissue specialists worked together on a complex surgery, essentially building her a new hind end from scratch. Iris healed beautifully, using the litter box on her own and showing everyone just how strong and sweet she is.
