Orphan Kitten Club is the nation’s leading charitable organization dedicated to advancing kitten welfare.
We’re working to make kitten lifesaving the norm for every community through strategic, targeted programs that save the lives of the tiniest and most vulnerable felines.

Our History
Our story began in 2009 with Coco, a tiny black kitten perched high in a tree. When our founder Hannah Shaw climbed up and rescued her, the small act of compassion set in motion a wave that would change the future for vulnerable kittens.
In the years that followed, Hannah—known to millions as Kitten Lady—ignited a global movement for kittens, saving the lives of the tiniest felines and creating resources that reshaped how the world understands and protects them.
In 2016, she founded Orphan Kitten Club with a singular vision: to drive systemic change for kittens. By bringing together leading experts in kitten welfare and veterinary medicine, under-resourced shelters, and a compassionate community of supporters, Orphan Kitten Club launched a strategic approach to address the root challenges facing neonatal kittens, saving more than 250,000 little lives and counting.
Today, Orphan Kitten Club is advancing kitten welfare at scale—expanding access to care, investing in innovation, and redefining what is possible for kittens in shelters. What began with Coco has grown into a global commitment: to ensure that someday, every kitten has the resources they need to survive and thrive.
